Crew Opportunities on Tranquil Rose
It’s likely that the reason that you visited our web site was to answer the question “what is a Hotel Boat?” or something similar. But have you ever thought of joining us as crew?
Like our many loyal guest, we are lucky that our crew often return year after year. Hopefully they enjoy the lifestyle, obviously they enjoy the company of our brilliant guests, or perhaps they come back to give me one last chance to get it right!
But of course, we all move on at some time or other, and so we are always interested in hearing from possible future crew members.
What is involved?
If you have travelled with us on TR before I am sure you understand how we operate and the duties of our crew, but if not, here are a few ideas of the type of person we may be looking for.
To start with the basics, if you are looking for a 9 to 5 job, then this is not the one for you! There are three crew on board and we all muck in with the many tasks needed to run TR. Ok, I must admit I don’t get involved in the cooking but I’m a brilliant pot washer. So other than that, as I say, we all share the numerous duties.
We operate with a crew of three, and look for applicants with a sense of adventure, who would like to try something different by joining us for our summer season between mid-April and mid-October. Our ideal candidates are fun-loving, sociable, physically fit, able to work in a small team, and have good cooking skills. Duties are split between alternate days of cooking and crewing. Some level of cooking skills are needed, but if you are willing to learn, we can teach you all you need to be able to become a competent cook. Likewise, boating skills are not necessary, but if you can multitask, are physically fit and enjoy the outdoor life, and perhaps most of all have a great sense of humor (as this is a job to be enjoyed), we can help you with the rest.
